OurVermentino grapes are carefully hand selected at harvest and air dried on

trays in the shade for 60 days to crush the grapes at the point of their highest

sugar content.

Dolce Tramonto is the Italian word: Sweet Sunset. This truly is a sweet golden sunset, named for its color, made in the spirit of the legacy passed down from an anonymous Northern Italian family lineage. Larry A Burns Jr and Christopher Dearborn were mentored by an Italian winemaker in the art of crafting his family’s legacy; a time-honored tradition of making this passito wine which has been passed down throughout 25 generations of the families of this Northern Italian region. Enjoy this delicately sweet, but bold, aromatic amber wine that the Vermentino grape transforms into. Vermentino creates the unique flavor of this special passito wine.. The Vermentino vines have made their way from Northern Italy to the valleys of the Napa/Sonoma/Solano counties of Northern California’s wine region.

The grapes for our 2012 and 2013 Vermentino Passito Wine were harvested from the Las Brisas vineyards of Francis Mahoney.
